There are several factors responsible for all round and harmonious development which play an important role in the development of the child.
The first factor is inherent Sanskars. These Sanskars may relate to previous birth and pregnancy period. This has been proved scientifically and established by experience that Sanskar process starts from the time of insemination. Sanskars occur on mind and are affected by knowledge and discretion also. Therefore, inherent Sanskars are the foundation stone of the development of a person.
The second factor is household. The environment and atmosphere of the home, amity, harmony, tolerance and co-operation among family members and spiritual atmosphere like prayer, worship, service and organising festivals etc. influence the development process of the child.
The third factor is the daily chores, like yoga, meditation, pranayam, exercise, food, sleep, game, association with pious men, study etc. They help in the development of physical, vital and intellectual competence, grasping power and memory and assist in the elimination of psychopathy, cleansing of negative tendencies and spiritual upliftment.
The fourth factor is the companions and friends circle of the child. The development of the child is greatly affected by the type of company of the child and by the personality of the friends with whom he is intimate.
The fifth factor is game. Thrilling and risky games also play special role in the development of the child. Children get required thrill from their childhood itself for the development of their personality. They get necessary thrill for their development by facing challenges during games and they get some sort of freedom also while playing outside of their homes. This dynamism takes place in their development.
The sixth responsible factor is various subjects being taught in the school. The subjects studied in the schools are not the end in them but are merely means. All round development is the end and subjects are means. Each subject on one side is related to the one or more than one dimension of individual development and on the other side it is connected with one or more than one dimension of social development.
The seventh factor is the character of those persons in family, school & neighbourhood who excel in knowledge, age and experience and who come into contact with the child. The child gets inspiration and guidance from his parents, his Guru or teacher, family, members and outstanding persons of vicinity. He learns by imitating and following their behaviour and merits.
The eighth factor is the atmosphere and system of the school. The atmosphere in the school should be refined, holistic, captivating and environment friendly. It should be well-equipped with necessary facilities but there should not be any appliances of luxury and too much comfort lessens his resisting power.
